Your holiday begins! Whether you’ve made use of the complimentary parking or the complementary Limitless accessible taxi transfer, our team will be there to help you check in your bags and board the ship. Those guests staying in an accessible cabin will also benefit from Priority Embarkation. We know check-in and boarding can be a nervous experience for some travellers, so Limitless assists with every aspect. Once aboard the cruise ship, you’ll have a chance to settle into your cabin, explore the ship, and meet your fellow Limitless Travellers. The Limitless Care Team is always available to provide support and ensure your holiday gets off to the best possible start.

Exploring the Aurora

Your first day at sea is all about exploring the ship and settling in. Typically, the Limitless Team meets with everyone in the morning to catch up over breakfast, make sure you had a comfortable night, discuss the day ahead, and plan activities. We often lunch and dine as a group as well, so you’re never short of company.

During days at sea, there’s plenty to see and do on the Aurora. As a group, Limitless Travellers often enjoy a relaxed morning, followed by a group lunch and some afternoon fun - be it a theatre show or a movie. Then it’s time to get dressed up for a delicious dinner, followed by some fantastic evening entertainment. Of course, how you spend your day is entirely up to you! But it’s good to know that the Limitless Team and your fellow travellers are always around too.

Pools & Spa

With three swimming pools, the Aurora is well-equipped for when the weather warms up and you feel like cooling off with a refreshing dip. While the Riviera and Terrace pools are both outdoors, the glass-roofed Crystal Pool means you can enjoy a swim on cold-weather cruises, too.

Hoist equipment is available for Limitless Travellers who require it, ensuring everyone can enjoy the facilities. Whirlpool spas are attached to several of the pools and poolside refreshments are available at all three locations. The Aurora is also home to the fantastic Oasis Spa, a sanctuary of wellness where you can enjoy pampering treatments, exclusive therapies and a range of beauty services.

Limitless Private Excursion

Known as Norway’s mountain capital, Åndalsnes is situated on the edge of the towering Romsdal Alps and at the head of beautiful Romsdalsfjord. As the town’s remarkable landscapes and breathtaking natural environment are the main attractions, we’ll be boarding the wheelchair-accessible Romsdalsgondolen cable car to climb 708 metres and enjoy the epic 360° views from the Nesaksla Viewing Area at the top.

On returning to sea level, your Tour Manager will lead a gentle walking tour around some of the town’s key landmarks. This includes the town centre, Rauma Railway Station and the Train Chapel. While the station is the departure point for one of the most scenic railway journeys in Europe, the chapel is the only (to our knowledge) consecrated train carriage in the world. Åndalsnes is also home to the Norsk Tindesenter, a museum that offers a fascinating insight into the history of mountaineering. While accessible, you will need to purchase an entry ticket (currently around £12). Those interested in visiting the famous Trollstigen road nearby will need to book the excursion with P&O independently.

Onboard Entertainment

Despite being a smaller ship, there is no shortage of entertainment options aboard the Aurora. With seven unique entertainment venues and a whole host of thrilling shows and performances to enjoy, there’s never a shortage of things to see or do. Whether you’re interested in playing a few hands with your fellow travellers in the Card Room or participating in the popular Wavelength interactive gameshow, there’s something to suit every taste.

While the 200-seater Playhouse Cinema and 600-seater Curzon Theatre are the ship’s flagship venues, the Aurora also boasts several smaller options, including Carmen’s Show Lounge, the PULSE nightclub, a silent disco and a lavish casino. Keep an eye out for special shows, too. The Aurora is well-known for its mind-blowing magic and musical spectaculars. 

Port Visit

Situated a little way north of the Arctic Circle, Bodø is Northern Norway’s second-largest settlement. Suffering extensive damage in a German bombing raid in 1940, the city now boasts strikingly modern architecture. Stylish cafes and excellent shopping abound, and the harbourfront features fantastic bars and restaurants.

Bodø is also known for its museums, with several to choose from. The first half of the Aviation Museum examines commercial planes, hot air balloons and other forms of aerial transport, while the second half centres on military vehicles. Alternatively, the Jekt Trade Museum explores the practicalities and mechanics of local trade, dating back to the Viking era. It includes the incredible Anna Karoline, a traditional square-sailed ship and the last remaining Nordland jekt.

Port Visit

On your second day in Bodø, you’ll have an opportunity to explore any parts of the city you missed or want to revisit. Of course, you’re also welcome to stay aboard the ship and enjoy the world-class facilities. Close to the disembarkation point, the Koch Shopping Centre is the city’s largest indoor shopping area and a great place to pick up a few treats and souvenirs.

As sizable sections were rebuilt in the wake of WWII, the city is largely accessible, and Limitless Travellers tend to enjoy exploring its wheelchair-friendly streets. It’s home to several churches, including the wonderfully bold Bodø Cathedral. The local area is known for the Saltstraumen – the world’s strongest maelstrom and a unique tidal event. Visits to see the Saltstraumen must be booked independently.

Port Visit

Though it’s a fair way north of the Arctic Circle, Tromsø boasts a remarkably mild climate for its latitude. While ice-free waters and westerly winds mean this vibrant city (it has the most bars per capita in all of Norway) may be a little warmer than usual, there’s still plenty of snow!

Tromsø is also home to several excellent accessible attractions, including the local Troll Museum. Trolls play a crucial role in Norwegian folklore and legend and this brilliant museum explains why while also introducing visitors to many of its most famous troll-related tales. Alternatively, the Polar Museum details the expeditions, adventures and everyday lives of Arctic explorers from the 17th century to the modern day.

Port Visit

With a second day to explore Tromsø before the ship resumes its exploration of the mighty Norwegian fjords, it’s up to you whether you head ashore or take it easy and make the most of the onboard entertainment and leisure facilities.

If you do head into Tromsø, the Polaria Arctic Experience Centre boasts a fantastic arctic aquarium. Designed to help visitors learn about how animals, fish, plants, and people live side-by-side in the Arctic, it’s also home to bearded seals and other unique wildlife. If you just want to get a feel for the town and enjoy the local cafes, bars and restaurants, the Storgatta central shopping street is where you’ll find all the action. Finally, excursions to the Tromsø cable car are also possible, though the gondolas aren’t accessible for all travellers.

Restaurants & Bars

With a total of 19 restaurants and bars, the Aurora caters to every taste and offers a fantastic range of dining and drinking opportunities. Whether you’re looking for fine dining experiences or a relaxed buffet-style lunch, there is something for everyone aboard the Aurora.

While the vast majority of the Auroras restaurants are included in your full-board package, a few venues require diners to pay a small surcharge. These include the popular Sindhu, with its delicious Indian-British fusion, The Glass House, where tapas dishes are paired with the perfect wine, and The Beach House, where Latin flavours run wild.

Limitless Accessible Walking Tour

Welcome to Haugesund - home of the Vikings! Although the town itself is relatively young, the local area was a hotbed of Viking activity, with the first Norwegian king, Harald Fairhair, living just 8 km away. Known as the birthplace of modern Norway, Haugesund is packed with incredible history, while also boasting a thriving modern centre, with plenty of holiday shopping opportunities and several excellent restaurants.

Led by your Tour Manager, our optional accessible walking tour sees you cross the scenic Risøy Bridge and head for the Viking Planet Museum. History buffs may want to consider a stop here for a fascinating insight into the town’s Viking heritage. The tour continues down Haugesund’s main pedestrianised shopping street, Haraldsgata, before visiting Vår Frelsers Church, a neo-Gothic masterpiece. It concludes with a photo-op at the Marilyn Monroe statue on Haugesund’s gorgeous waterfront.

Sailing Home

By now, you will have spent a few days exploring the Aurora and enjoying the facilities, activities and entertainment. But we guarantee there are still things you’re yet to see, do or find. Have you caught a movie at the Playhouse Cinema? Dined out at the ever-popular, Indian-Inspired Sindhu? Tried your luck at the opulent onboard casino?

As we make our way back to Southampton, this is a great opportunity to check out those parts of the Aurora you’re yet to see and return to your favourite spots. Or just relax in total comfort and reminisce about the places you’ve experienced over the course of your holiday. Disembark & Home Drop-Off

Following your final breakfast aboard the ship, the Limitless team will assist with check-out. The ship’s crew will take down your bags, and we’ll help you disembark, make sure you reach your pick-up, and say our farewells. Your transfer will then get you home, dropping you off at your front door.
