* Limitless Travel carefully pick out cruise itineraries to ensure minimal anchor ports (where a small boat or ‘tender’ transports guests to shore) Unfortunately port changes can happen due to a number of reasons while at sea. Limitless Travel will not be held accountable for any port changes.
Today your adventure begins! Either join our transfer to the cruise port or park your car in the complimentary parking; before we board P&O's Iona cruise ship. The largest vessel in the P&O fleet, the Iona was launched in 2019 and boasts a beautiful, contemporary style and the latest facilities.
Our care team will help you check-in your bags, after which they’ll be taken directly to your room. If you’re staying in an accessible cabin then you will also benefit from Priority Embarkation, so you'll be settled in and exploring the Iona before you know it. In the evening we'll enjoy dinner as a group, looking ahead to a wonderful holiday together.
As with most cruises, your holiday properly starts at sea. Today you will have plenty of time to get to know the ship as we head towards the Spanish coast, taking in the spectacular sea views as we go. Your first full day at sea is all the perfect opportunity to consider what you would like to do. With such an impressive range of entertainment and dining, we recommend keeping an eye out for the on board Horizon paper. This will list the venues and times of daily activities including, Games, Bingo, Karaoke, Shows, Movies and much more.
Land Ahoy! Today after a hearty breakfast you will arrive in your first port, Bilbao. The Limitless team will be on hand to help everyone disembark and look around this beautiful location.
While Bilbao is undeniably a bustling working city, it has long been distinguished by its vibrant old town, which traces its origins back to the 14th century. Navigate the winding alleyways of the Casco Viejo, where you can pause to savour tapas at the numerous outstanding local bars and restaurants. Notable sights in this area include the arcaded Plaza Nueva and the Gothic Cathedral de Santiago. Housing one of Spain's most significant art collections, the Museo de Bellas Artes spans works from the 12th century to contemporary pieces by artists such as Cezanne, Gauguin, and Francis Bacon.
Another day another brilliant port of call. La Coruña is one of Galicia's major cities and a significant centre for the textiles and fashion industries, and the home of international mega-brand Zara and an array of captivating shops and boutiques
Beyond its shopping allure, La Coruña is a lively beach town renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, outstanding food scene, and some of the finest seafood in northern Spain. The ship docks just a brief seven-minute walk from the central Maria Pita square, where charming cafes, bars, and restaurants await. Additionally, you can catch a glimpse of the city's iconic Hercules Lighthouse.
Today you'll continue your Spanish discovery with a visit to Vigo. One of Spain's bustling fishing hubs, it is situated on the rugged west coast of the Galicia province. Galicia's largest city is a dynamic modern metropolis, harmonising one of the world's busiest fishing ports with an atmospheric old quarter. It boasts numerous beautiful beaches at its doorstep and a vibrant nightlife scene featuring tapas bars, restaurants, and clubs.
The local seafood, considered among the best in Spain, benefits from the area's unique microclimate. Pulpo (octopus) holds the title of the local favourite, often enjoyed with glasses of Galician Albariño. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Ruá de Pescaderia (Fish Street) is a must, where Vigo's renowned women oyster sellers showcase their offerings.
With a welcome day back on the ship, today offers an ideal opportunity to unwind and recharge after a series of eventful days ashore. Did you know that the Iona boasts comprehensive spa facilities, including an onboard hairdresser! Additionally, there are several pools on board for those who prefer to bask in the sun and relax. One of these pools is equipped with a lift, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the waters. Please be aware that booking for this amenity may be required in advance, so reach out to the Limitless team who will gladly assist in organising this.
Today marks the last full day of your cruise, and to round off your journey you can enjoy a fascinating visit to Cherbourg in France.
The cruise ship typically docks at Quay de France, a 15-minute walk to the city centre. Cherbourg, renowned for its seafaring heritage and its role in "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg," offers many accessible attractions. Discover its maritime history at the Cité de la Mer museum, featuring a nuclear submarine and impressive aquariums, accommodating mobility needs for a fulfilling experience.
Welcome home. Having enjoyed your final breakfast onboard, we'll assist you with the check-out process to ensure all goes smoothly. The Iona's attentive crew will handle your bags, while our dedicated care team will be available to provide any assistance you may need. You'll then join the transfers back to the designated pick-up points, feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and fully prepared for your next Limitless adventure. We're eagerly looking forward to welcoming you back again soon!
