Steam train

Steam Train Ride from Bodmin

< >

On Day Four, we’ll depart from Plymouth and head to Bodmin to board an accessible steam train. Originally opened in 1834, the Bodmin & Wadebridge Railway was built to transport minerals and agricultural sea sand. After the decline of steam, the tracks fell into disrepair, but thanks to the dedicated efforts of The Bodmin Railway Preservation Society (BRPS), the line was restored and reopened to the public in the 1990s. Today, it offers visitors a chance to experience the beauty of the region while enjoying a scenic and nostalgic journey.
After our scenic steam train journey, the group will head to a charming local café to indulge in a traditional Cornish cream tea. This delightful treat is the perfect way to unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures. We can’t think of a more fitting way to end a memorable day exploring the beauty of Cornwall.
