** Limitless Travel carefully pick out cruise itineraries to ensure minimal anchor ports (where a small boat or ‘tender’ transports guests to shore). Unfortunately port changes can happen due to a number of reasons while at sea. Limitless Travel will not be held accountable for any port changes.
Your adventure begins! Enjoy home-pick up (free of charge within the first 125 miles), or pick up at Southampton Central or Airport, or free parking included. Where you join us, our team will be waiting to greet you and to offer support in boarding P&O's world-class Iona cruise ship. You’ll benefit from Priority Boarding, so you’ll be exploring the ship before you know it!
As with most cruises, your holiday starts at sea. Today you will get time to know the ship as we head towards the Iberian Peninsula, taking in the spectacular sea views as we go and making the most of the ship’s impressive facilities. You will have the chance to meet the rest of the group and get familiar with your new home for the next few days.
As we sail effortlessly towards the Mediterranean why not enjoy a film at the on board Cinema, or maybe head to one of the entertainment venues to catch a show. Remember to keep your eyes peeled for the Horizon news paper which will document the time and venues of all that will be taking place on the ship.
By now you should be comfortable in your new home and getting an understanding of where everything is on this beautiful ship. Today would be the perfect chance to sample one of the extensive dinning options on board. With many included in your fare you may think its not worth trying one of the speciality restaurants on the Iona but we would recommend you browse the menu's and speak to the staff as something may catch your fancy.
Land ahoy! Today we dock at your first port on this exciting voyage around the coast of Spain and Portugal as you reach Gibraltar. A British Overseas Territory with a mix of British and Mediterranean charm which offers over 300 days of sunshine yearly it's a top destination to visit. Known in the past as the Pillars of Hercules, here you will see how close the coast gets to Morocco, with it possible to see the mountain ranges across the bay. Enjoy strolling around the shops where you are sure to find many souvenirs and trinkets or head to the beach which is bordered by the brightly coloured local fishing vessels. But remember to keep your eyes peeled as Gibraltar is also famous for its cheeky Barbary apes.
Dubbed the "city of light" when founded by the Romans, Alicante is set around a natural Harbour with stretches of White sandy beaches, overlooked by the distant mountains. The largest city on the Costa Blanca, Alicante has a lively Spanish atmosphere with an abundance of bars and restaurants. Beyond the tourist surface, this picturesque Spanish town enjoys a rich heritage with thousands of years of maritime history.
The Catalan capital, Barcelona is one of the most iconic cities in Europe and an essential destination for architecture, art and food-lovers, there’s nothing quite like strolling through the Barri Gòtic and stopping at one of the many outstanding bars for a spot of tapas or a cooling sangria.
If you’re a bit of a culture vulture, there are plenty of opportunities to check out work by Dalí, Gaudí Miró and Picasso.
Today we will be taking you on a guided tour of the city and will endeavour to see as many sights as possible during the time, we can not guarantee however what landmarks this will be due to varying conditions in the city and within the group.
After an action packed few days today you will get the chance to relax on board as you head towards your next port. If you are feeling like you would like some "me" time why not investigate the on board spa and wellness facilities. They even have a hair dresser!
Romantic Cadiz boasts thousands of years of history and has been one of Spain’s most important coastal cities for much of the country’s past. One of the spiritual homes of flamenco, it’s a city with a unique character and visible Arabic heritage, ensuring it’s an enchanting stop on your cruise. Almost entirely surrounded by water, Cadiz is one of the Iberian Peninsula’s hidden gems and a favourite amongst many Spanish travellers. The locals are known for their welcoming, down-to-earth character and the city’s restaurants are seafood specialists, so make sure you sit down for some fresh fish before you leave.
Your last stop is the postcard-perfect city of Lisbon. Capital of Portugal and one of the hottest destinations in Europe, it’s a beautiful city that boasts some of the most picturesque streets, squares and sights on the continent with its picture postcard pastel coloured buildings. As we’re arriving, we’ll cruise past the Belem Tower, the Cristo Rei and under the city’s impressive suspension bridge.
The Limitless Team will be on hand to help you disembark and explore the Portuguese capital. Make sure you try a traditional Portuguese custard tart and soak up the relaxed atmosphere - Lisbon is a Limitless favourite so make sure you plan where you would like to visit before hand, with so much on offer we’re sure you’ll have a brilliant day.
As the ship starts its journey back north, today would be the perfect opportunity to enjoy one of the on board pools on the Iona. Complete with one having lift access they are available for all to enjoy. If Swimming isn't for you then why not head to the Club house. Offering day time entertainment including live music, family entertainment and game shows.
Today you wake to your last full day on the ship. Make sure to revisit your favourite attractions on board, or try that restaurant you have been eyeing up. Above all remember to catch up with your other Limitless guests and swap photo's and stories of your time away.
After your breakfast, we’ll help you check-out. Your bags will be taken down by the Iona's crew and our care team will be on-hand to assist you. From here you will join the transfers back to the pick-up points, relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for your next Limitless adventure. We can’t wait to see you again!
