Itinerary
Day 1Travel to Plymouth
We’ll meet you at one of our designated UK pick-up points, help you board our accessible coach and ensure you’re comfortable for the journey. All our coaches benefit from hydraulic lift or ramp access, and wheelchairs can be safely secured in place, so there’s no need to transfer to a standard seat. Similarly, all our drivers have experience working with Limitless Travellers and understand and respect individual access needs.
On arrival, the Limitless Team will help you check in. Then, you’ll have time to relax, unwind and explore your accessible room, before enjoying a delicious meal in the hotel restaurant. Your Tour Manager will round out the evening with a little entertainment for those not quite ready to hit the hay.
Learn more about our accessible transport in our FAQs.
Day 2Boat Trip & National Aquarium
Plymouth
Your first full day begins with an accessible boat trip across the historic Plymouth Sound. This hour-long cruise takes you past Plymouth Hoe, Drake’s Island, Mount Edgcumbe and Royal William Yard, before heading up the River Tamar to one of Europe’s largest naval dockyards, where imposing warships and nuclear submarines await.
In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium for an underwater adventure featuring more than 5,000 animals and a remarkable array of marine habitats. From sharks and octopuses to turtles, rays and lionfish, you’ll have the chance to see some of the most incredible animals on the planet. Then it’s back to the hotel for a delicious dinner and a little evening entertainment.
Day 3Eden Project
Eden Project
Cornwall’s spectacular Eden Project remains one of the UK’s most popular attractions and an incredible example of our ability to regenerate the natural environment. A former clay mine with no soil or vegetation, the site was transformed through the installation of enormous biomes and outdoor gardens, resulting in the creation of one of the world’s largest indoor rainforests and a breathtaking Mediterranean habitat.
Opened in 2000, the Eden Project is a staggering achievement and an extraordinary opportunity to learn about non-native habitats, while exploring issues of sustainability and our relationship to nature. Visitors are regularly astounded by this remarkable feat of architecture and bio-engineering, and the Eden Project regularly ranks among Limitless Travellers’ favourite days out.
Day 4Buckfast Abbey & Butterfly Centre
Located in a spectacular valley on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Buckfast Abbey is home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine monks. As well as fulfilling their spiritual vocation, the monks produce the world-famous Buckfast Tonic Wine, and a visit to the abbey makes for a fascinating introduction to this complex history.
After a morning spent enjoying the abbey’s elegant architecture and serene atmosphere, we’ll make the short journey to the Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary and Buckfast Butterfly Farm. The Otter Sanctuary is home to British, Asian Short-Clawed and North American River otters, and is a unique chance to see this notoriously secretive creature in action. The Butterfly Farm houses an incredible range of living exotic butterflies and moths in a closely controlled and monitored environment packed with colourful plants and flowers.
Day 5Torquay Cream Tea
Today, we'll head to the beautiful seaside town of Torquay to enjoy the sun, sand and sea breeze. Situated at the heart of the English Riviera, the town boasts a vibrant harbour and marina, as well as the sweeping Torre Abbey Sands beach.
On our visit, we’ll have a few hours to explore the town before we head to The Grand Hotel, an iconic Victorian building with a commanding seafront location above Corbyn Beach, for a classic cream tea. It doesn’t get much more authentically Devon than scones, jam and cream - just remember to spread the cream before the jam. We’re not in Cornwall!
Day 6Dartmouth Steam Train
On your final full day, we’ll make our way to the classic seaside resort of Paignton. The town’s historic harbour is home to a variety of restaurants and cafes, while its long stretch of sandy beach runs all the way to Paignton’s famous pier. There, we'll head to Paignton train station and depart on one of the UK's most unique and strikingly beautiful train journeys.
Riding aboard a traditional steam train with vintage carriages, we'll sit back, relax and take in the views as we travel to Dartmouth along the spectacular Devonshire coastline. Arriving at the final station, we'll take a short passenger ferry into the heart of the town to enjoy a delicious lunch as a group.
Day 7Breakfast & Travel Home
Today, your Cornwall & Devon Explorer tour comes to an end. After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll board the accessible coach and depart for our various UK drop-off locations. Relax, reminisce with your fellow Limitless Travellers and take in the views. We’ll ensure you’re comfortable for the return journey and look forward to seeing you on your next Limitless holiday!
